I like all these girls; I think they each have a unique beauty all their own. Certainly Jones, Collins, Mara and Wasikowska have very distinctive looks. The only one I don't like is Lawrence. What's so special about her look and acting, she always has the same dead stare? Is it considered "acting" nowadays just to look blank all the time? I've seen Winter's Bone and X-Men First Class, and her lack of emotion is the only character that makes her stand out. She is significant only in the sense that her face is always significantly expressionless.

VF goes indie this time for sure: damn awesome to see especially Elizabeth Olsen and Brit Marling are there! Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska and Jennifer Laurence kinda make sense at the same time. Funny and bizzare their wearing heavily maked-up lips. As in the shooting b-roll: Elizabeth Olsen's face was kinda frozen when she tried to smile.

Same complaints every year. At least they made something of an effort this year. Much better than the 2010 issue which was just interchangeable, skinny white chicks.

They're supposed to be famous Hollywood starlets but some of the styling works better than others. Mara reminds me of Theda Bara more than Louise Brooks-her bob isn't very Brooksish, Adeparo is Dorothy Dandridge, Jessica Chastain channelling Rita Hayworth, Lily Collins is a dead ringer for Liz Taylor, the tall Olsen is Grace Kelly. Others I can't figure out. Wasikowska might be Lana Turner?

63% of the US population is white, and that's like decreasing every year. They could have thrown in an Asian actress or a Latina or something instead of 9 white chicks plus two black chicks. Jessica Chastain and Paula Patton aren't young either. Plus, this shoot could use a fatty or a fugo or two. And what the hell is wrong with actresses that work on television? Television has been producing better quality content than movies in the US for like the past decade. Vanity Fair is lame. I do like Mia Wasikowska though.

Adepero and Lizzie Olsen should have made the front cover.. Paula Patton and Lily Collins get the annual "wtf are they doing here" award. Rooney Mara and her perpetually unhappy mug get the annual "thanks for ruining this otherwise flawless cover." Shailene Woodley must have hurt her neck with that pose. Chastain looks the happiest.
