This is great news. Who wants Deakins wasting his talent on another 6-month Bond shoot? If it wasn't for Skyfall, he would have shot Inside Llewyn Davis and probably another adult-friendly movie like Killing Them Softly. Best of all, leaving Bond should keep him free to reunite with the Coen Brothers on their next project.

Sad news… But there are so many great cinematohraphers who could be perfect for the job : Wally Pfister, Emmanuel Lubezki, Janusz KamiÅski, Robert Richardson, Robert Elswit, JoaquÃn Baca-Asay, Linus Sandgren, Frank G. DeMarco, Philippe Le Sourd, Daniel Mindel…
