The sad thing about this is that he\’s not all wrong about indie film-making. As much as people might even put it on a pedestal where true art comes to life they are not always organised, they\’re not always good, you\’re supposed to put your all into the film that sometimes won\’t pay you and then no one sees the movie. So it can feel like a complete waste.

It\’s true that indies can be quite frustrating for actors and crew ie,the financing, scheduling, distribution, promo but still, there is no need to trash the indie world just because Downey is sitting in his millions and he has no time for unpredictability of indies. This just confirms his being an a** for quite some time and his racist remarks just sealed the deal for me. Disappointed fan.

OK. Downey Jr. may escape Johnny Depp fate and keep on earning tons of bucks for Marvel but he will not be able to win an Oscar for sure. All his moves such as Judge are laughable. Instead guys from Inarritu will do it.

seems like he\’s talking more about the cons of inexperienced filmmakers than anything else. hey man, he\’s earned his spot at the top of the food chain and people complain b/c he doesn\’t want to go back to the bottom-feeder level? sigh. give the man a decent screenplay and experienced director and no doubt he\’ll jump on board once his stint as Iron Man concludes.

He is absolutely right. There are something like 50,000 indie films made annually, and probably 49,900 of them suck. Sure it\’s nice to give someone a helping hand to climb the ladder. But what if they\’re on the wrong ladder? What if they need to go back out and make 30 more shorts with no names before they get the hang of it?

What a tw*t. Over the last couple of years he\’s gone from being my favourite actor in that dull universe to my least favourite. He also seems to be alone in this thinking as last year alone his fellow avengers had great and interesting movies coming out – Snowpiercer (Evans), Under The Skin (Johannson), Foxcatcher (Ruffalo) and The Immigrant (Renner). Downey had The Judge.

Jckson -"….Many indie films do suck." as do many big budget studio movies. There are pros and cons at both ends of the spectrum, the only difference being the $$ he gets paid. But really when an actor with all the choices in the world goes and does "The Judge", well maybe he shouldn\’t be tossing stones at anyone else.
