In reply to <a href="https://staging2.theplaylist.net/ridley-scott-stop-moaning-20180220/#comment-158687">videopat</a>.

So freaking true. ↑ It's the part of the battle, the big timers never talk about or conveniently fail to mention. We made our feature psychodrama, STREAMER, for under 4k, shot on evenings & weekends for a little over a year. We got some money afterwards (from close family) to pay for sound design & our audio mix. That's the only stage of the process we couldn't do ourselves & needed actual money for.

We completed at the end of 2017, still submitting to fests, we have won 1 award (so far) “Best Drama Film" and a ton of great reviews. But we're not even close to finding distribution & it's been a battle to even just get sites like The Playlist or IndieWire to cover our film or plug our trailer at the very least. We need the exposure.

So with all this said, it still feels like our quality work/film is just floating in the ether.. & by my standards, we didn't make some generic POS & I actually think our film is hyper relevant within today's culture.

Good advice from one of the masters, although Ridley doesn't mention the difficulty in securing distribution and trying to find an audience without an expensive marketing blitz. Getting a film 'in the can' is only half the equation. Finding its intended audience is the other.
