I figure if Prometheus is the big hit Fox is hoping for, Scott (who in my eyes seems to be passionate about one of his films for the first time in like 15 years) would probably jump right back into this universe once "The Counselor" wraps up shooting.
If things work out I would expect Prometheus 2 (The Son of Prometheus) could start production in 2013.
-Also this would be the first time Scott has made a DIRECT Unabashed Sequel to one of his films.

A PG-13 Alien prequel? You mentioned Scott's editing a PG-13 and a R-Rated cut of the film. We all know how this is going to end for fucks sake! This is Fox – Tim Rothman – say no more! This guy has history! It's going to be a PG-13 film. No way in hell is Rothman going to allow Scott to have final cut of the film with a 200m+ budget to be R-Rated. You want the unedited and uncut version – wait for the DVD!

well,like you said-NO SHIT.
i dont think any studio today is ready to give 200+ mill on a film that cant start a franchise.
but there is one thing i would like to add-ridley does not look like an old man at all(he is 75)now,but seeing how he already has 3 project lined up(counselor,gertrude bell and blade runner) means that he wont be able to come back to another prometheus before 2016 when he will almost be 80!!! will he be able to still do it then?? i fucking hope so…

The UK trailer's really beautiful – it does a great job of showing how the mission had the best of intentions, and how they accidentally started a chain reaction that could wipe out the whole human race. That's true horror, to me… (the song in the beginning is Sarajevo by Max Richter, awesome)
