You don\’t have to need serious help in order to spread awareness for the astonishing work of an actress like Marion Cotillard, a work to be found mainly in little seen films (since most of them are either arthouse or foreign-language). I don\’t know how familiar you are with the relationship between U.S. audiences and foreign cinema, but you clearly aren\’t.

@ GLASS Not only do I not confuse "a massive amount of their audience" with just myself but I know for sure that there\’s a whole bunch of viewers that demand Marion Cotillard to earn at least an Oscar nomination this year. She deserves it 100% and if you don\’t agree with that, it\’s alright, but what you say here is total bullshit.

I feel 100% safe to say right now that if Academy voters make the criminal mistake of snubbing the incomparable Marion Cotillard AGAIN for her towering performance as Sandra in Two Days, One Night, they\’re going to lose a massive amount of their audience. I really doubt she could end up winning a MUCH deserved second Oscar for her incredible turn in Two Days, One Night towards Julianne Moore for her great turn in Still Alice (since everything about The Oscars, especially in regards to the leading acting categories is so by the numbers, so damn predictable), but as long as she gets so many wins and nominations, I’m really excited for her! She’s the one who gave the Best Performance By An Actress In A Leading Role and pretty much everyone who saw Dardennes’ masterpiece knows it by now, so that’s what truly matters. The fact that she also gave the 2nd Best Performance By An Actress In A Leading Role in James Gray’s The Immigrant at the same year proves once again that this woman is a real force of nature. If they fail to nominate her once again (not if she fails, if they fail, as they did SOOOOOO many times before – performances like the ones she gives in Public Enemies, Nine, Inception, Midnight In Paris and Rust And Bone speak for themselves), there will be an uproar, that\’s for sure. I\’ll never truly care again about The Oscars if Marion isn\’t going to win a nomination.
