Was about to say the exact same thing.

It was probably going to be a flop anyways because TLJ pissed off a majority of the fans, but Rian Johnson praising it seals the deal.

I can only imagine how bad the comedy will be seeing the cringe-worthy, kiddie humor in TLJ.

]]> By: Daniel Strange https://staging2.theplaylist.net/rian-johnson-solo-20180227/#comment-158817 Tue, 27 Feb 2018 22:27:00 +0000 http://theplaylist.net/?p=381324#comment-158817 Wow, you’re a lot more optimistic about this than I am. 1) Johnson sounds purposefully vague to me, praising the individual components (“It *looks* so beautiful”, “the cast did a great job”) instead of just coming out and saying “It’s a great movie.” 2) Ron Howard is certainly a pro but his movies lately are rarely anything more than competent/watchable, never inspired. If all we’re looking for is more product to feed the Star Wars machine, great. But if we’re looking for a really engaging movie, I’m skeptical.
