					<description><![CDATA[Zhang Yimou is a sad and illustrative case of a crushed artistic spirit. After making To Live, he had a choice between exile and submission. His films since Hero have been excruciating exercises in justifying his choice to fall in line, carefully tiptoeing the line of CCP censorship. Despite whatever technical artistry remains in his films, I can\&#039;t help but feel sorry for him whenever I watch his newer films.]]></description>
