I have to say I disagree completely. I think YWMM is an incredible film that captures a young woman in a crisis moment. The use of multi-media only adds to the sense of fracture that Shelly Brown is going through. I saw it when it played at the MoMA and was blown away by the tour-de-force performance by Schnabel who was so skillfully directed by Russo-Young. She is so self destructive and yet you want everything for her. The editing is tight and the film is gritty, beautiful and arresting. I was never bored and was quite moved by the performances and the emotion coming out of the screen. I cared tremendously about the characters and found nothing about this film to be \"lazy\". I think you\'re way off on this one.
