I generally found it a good take on a well-known traditional English style ghost story (albeit being written by Susan Hill as late as 1983). A lot is being made of Daniel Radcliffe "post Harry Potter" but I remember him playing Rudyard Kipling's son John in "My Son Jack" a few years ago, and he's also performed on stage in "Equus", so young Mr Radcliffe has something going for him! I thoroughly enjoyed his performance, but the lapse into mawkishness at the end spoilt it a bit for me. Presumably this was for a percieved American audience?
