I've read few reviews that got a movie so wrong. The only thing patronizing is this writer.

"And so the cast of non-actor actors regale each other with stories, or subject each other to humiliations, while a bus driver who wouldn't last for five minutes on a real bus line ignores transgressions like a kid smashing a guitar to splinters with his foot in the middle of the bus."

It's unrealistic is such a cop-out. Get over it fancy critic guy.

Agreed about the sound mix, I thought I was the only one (English is not my first language, so it was even worse for me).

I did like the movie though. I thought it was supposed to be "uncute" and banal, as the way of "de-sentimentalizing" the depiction of teenage experience.

My favourite movie by Michel Gondry is The Science of Sleep.

The We and the I is one one the best films of Michel Gondry. You obviously misunderstood and/or misinterpreted it.
