Love, loved, loved this movie...the acting was fabulous, and the story well told. My two adult daughters loved it too, although they don\'t know a lot of history about the Lincoln assasination, and learned a lot...would recommend this film to anyone who loves history...it was great!

Sweet sacred cinema, I\'ll take stilted, mannered Oscar bait from 1990 over modern digital shaky-cam Avid-edited headache bait and love it. Does that mean Redford actually holds a shot for longer then five seconds, doesn\'t shoot every single scene handheld, sometimes lets actors actually interact in a two-shot, perhaps indulges in master shots, doesn\'t cut to a person speaking on their every single line of dialouge, and occasionally even cuts back to the same angle once in a while?

Because, really, we seem to be forgetting how to make just plain, old-fashioned movies. Which are not a bad thing.
