The other great story he told was how he just ran into Max Landis one day and they started talking to each other about what they'd been up to since they saw each other last (they apparently knew each other from when they were teenagers) and Trank tells him about this idea he's been toying with about some teenagers discovering they have powers, and how things quickly escalate out of control between them, and Landis replied with: "I'll be back in 2 weeks with a script"

I attended a screening of this last night in Austin that AICN put on at the Drafthouse… Trank and Harry Knowles did a Q&A after the film and it was kind of a trip to hear Trank explain how the film came to be. I love that it started when he asked himself what would it look like if some kids woke up one day and discovered they had Telekinesis.
