A well-written review, but beyond that I give the reviewer a C+for his insight. I knew only bits of the Kings of Leon backstory - like anyone else who would have watched this movie - and I found the approach refreshing, and the understated narrative to be exactly what the story called for. With a Grammy nomination, apparantly I'm not the only one who thinks Talahina Sky deserves an A+.

I thought the film was great, and I respect your review. As a fan, I thought the documentary did a great job telling a story. Can\'t wait to pick up the dvd on 11/1.

@Streets of Stars: Those interviews may be out there but they shouldn\'t be required viewing in order to appreciate this documentary. If \"Talihina Sky\" was made for a dedicated fanbase, I\'m not it, which is I gave it a mediocre grade. I was looking for a something a little less fleeting - a difference of tastes I guess.

This review is weak. The author clearly knows nothing about the band. There are several videos and interviews out there that will let you in on why and how this documentary makes sense. Their background has completely shaped their present (whose doesn\'t). The scattershot style to me perfectly portrays the way their life has been since their first album. It is an absolute whirlwind of touring and press and trying to fit in downtime and relationships. Not to mention the battle of your will verses what you were raised to believe in and trying to figure all that out on your own as an adult. Loved the film.
