I am tremendously aware of the fact that Sofia Coppola did not direct Martin Scorsese\’s After Hours. I was suggesting that this film blends his one-manic-night storytelling with Coppola\’s often entitled protagonists.

Interesting, well-written review..however I'm confused by your reference to "After Hours". The film I know and love by that name was directed by Martin Scorcese in 1985, and is one of my favorites. Am I missing something? In my view, Sofia – although talented – has never made a film that comes close to dark absurdity of "After Hours" and I can't imagine "Fort Tilden" comes close either….although I'll reserve my judgment after watching it.
