I've yet to see the film, so I can't speak for its quality. That said, I disagree that films now have to be "big". What happened just going to the cinema to enjoy a well-told story? A film could and should be many things - big, small, simple, ambitious, experimental, or somewhere in between. Each kind of story is equally deserving of being seen in the cinema. Different experiences call for different approaches.

Looks like Cory is using some sort of new post modern film criticism "woulda made a better tv show" concept here, even to the point where he complains that at two hours the movie is too short, and I can't help but state that that's a real bad angle from which to approach a decent film critique.

Jeez, I miss the days when the complaint was "the book was better". Now, I'm not saying the movie is good, haven't seen it, I'm just saying this critique is poorly contrived.

Maybe it would have been a better tweet than a full website review.
