I liked this movie. it was the first time I understood that if you really like a character you can follow them around doing mundane things or big things because you enjoy the character. also people are really insecure around the rich and famous but hey the have problems too. sex drugs, money and admiration don\'t cure life. I also like how this character was sad because he was essentially homeless. This was my favorite film of 2010

I\'m kind of surprised everyone disliked it this much. I didn\'t love it, and I like it a lot less now that time has passed, but some scenes had an odd strength to them - such as when Dorf is getting his face mask done and when he\'s pulling off his cast. Its reluctance to have any overdone confrontation scenes or inserting fake drama was also a strong asset, I thought it worked well.

That said it also felt a little fake, like she was trying to impress with all of her long takes and miniscule narrative.

Virgin Suicides was good, but it\'s based on a great book.

Lost in Translation was a mediocre script, but the music, cinematography and Bill Murray (who changed every one of his lines) make it a really interesting film.

Marie Antoinette was nice to look at, a diversion, but pretty shallow.

Somewhere looks like the b-side to Lost in Translation, diminished returns. L.A. isn\'t as interesting as Tokyo and Dorff is certainly no Murray.

Sofia is not a strong writer, but she and her team (Roman\'s second unit work is fantastic always) have a nice visual style. She ought to stick to adapting novels rather than her own writing.
