Asimov attributes the three laws to writer and editor of Amazing Science Fiction John W. Campbell. Asimov humbly presents himself as a mere scribe who was the first to codify the three laws in print. The laws were not unchangeable and were even appended by Asimov himself. When he pondered various plots that would bring the laws into conflict with each other the technology that would make his robot characters possible was several generations away. Asimov was playing chess with robot stories.

As the laws were not considered immutable even by their spiritual godfather, Ibanez is free to reboot them in whatever form he chooses without being accused of plagiarism.

The second protocol is a logical construct for any manufacturer attempting to maintain control over its product line, both for liability and patent protections.

Ibanez\' use of current production robotics gave the questions he is asking about human adaptability an immediacy and emotional impact which would have been lost with cgi polish and wizardry.

This movie really grabbed me, it made the automated voice at the Meijer self checkout a bit too real. It was creepy.

When a hack like JJAbrams ripped off shamelessly from ET and Close Encounters you guys said "oh its a homage".

When an unknown guy makes a mid level film and pays homage to Blade Runner and Asimov, that\'s " Ripping off"

#Hypocritical you all are.
