Also, Edgerton\’s less Brando than a highly shrewd (creatively restless and prolific as per his writing/directing projects), pragmatic-intellectual "variation" on the Aussie Bloke type. The "waddle" is part of ingrained "bloke" mannerism perhaps, as can be seen in his less exactingly directed Aussie productions (Felony, Wish you were here), or a comical, quasi-ingenue version in Kinky Boots.

Edgerton\’s performance is mind-blowing, because he played Ramses as a boorish yet rational scion of biblical gangsterdom! His folly of arrogance, competitive ego, entitlement and presumptuousness, are all part of inheriting a business and fighting for resources on the smallest level. Absolutely pierced through the surface we used to get in biblical drama. Even his battlefield stance and behavior are human-sized, not the larger-than-life Russell Crowe "bestowed" on a Ridley Scott endeavor.

Exodus was definitely lacking. But to echo some of the other comments here, his home video Direector\’s Cuts seem to be the real, living versions of his films. The theatrical "Exodus" doesn\’t work, but you can feel the jumps where whole sections that were removed. Like Kingdom of Heaven, a misfire of a theatrical release that is a really solid film in Director\’s Cut form, I will give this one another chance on BD. It\’s a shame they can\’t just have the guy release the definitive version. He\’s Ridley Effin\’ Scott for chrissake.

Scott\’s recent films have been forgettable. i enjoyed The Counselor b/c of Mccarthy\’s dialog and Bardem\’s performance. Prometheus had nothing going for it besides pretty pictures.

Yeah. U guys were probably better off just waiting for the directors cut for added character development. I\’ll bet DC runs 180 minutes at least. And if you doubt they\’ll be one…this is Ridley Scott we\’re talking about. Everyone of his films dept maybe The Good Year and Matchstick Men have had one released.

Robin Hood… Prometheus… The Counsellor… Ridley is going dowwwwwwnhill recently, I\’m hoping this is at least a small step back up. I don\’t think anything can be as hilariously bad as The Counsellor.
