This is truly an enlightening story telling experience not only of Mary Pickford's pivotal role in the beginnings of cinema, which is extraordinary and fascinating, but of her as a trailblazing role model for women as well. One of the most memorable moments for me in this piece is the live interview with Amelia Earhart that Mary held on the grounds of her home. There sat two brave women who both "flew" in the face of current convention by charging toward their individual passions leaving an indelible mark on the world...impressive! Nicholas Eliopoulos is an accomplished and adept filmmaker who has lovingly preserved this very special piece of history for us all to enjoy...and remember. It is a not to be missed film for movie lovers everywhere!

I've seen "Muse..." and I think it is brilliant. So long ago and forgotten by a majority of today's instant celebrity worshipers, Mary Pickford and her fellow founding filmmakers really did build the film business with a successful model that has not changed. And this documentary captures those early beginnings of the art and business of the film industry that has now morphed into the video industry. In the end Talent Will Out, Will Succeed and this documentary is successful in showing us all what is was like...In The Beginning. It's all been immortalized in this documentary so it won't be forgotten. This Mary Pickford piece really is THE touchstone of what it was like back then to be "in the business."

"But where 'Muse Of The Movies' stumbles is in balancing out Pickford's accomplishments with some of the less savory aspects of her life."

Why does every pundit want to see a little dirt rubbed on people? All of us have faults and dark corners in our lives. That's why, sometimes, we just need to celebrate the good things.
