especially liked the bleakness of it all. there isn\’t any redemption arc built into this one, unlike most comic book stories (on tv or in films) where you know that some things must work out in a particular way. That feeling of being manipulated to like/dislike particular people isn\’t there at all–the characters (even bizarre ones like robyn) seem written like people with lives, rather than cutouts.

one thing i didn\’t agree with in the review: don\’t think jones is meant "not to care"? the voice of the character seemed much more hmphrey bogart than anything else–and the not caring a bogart-in-casablanca-ish facade used by someone who does care quite a bit.
