Did you really intend for the comma to follow the parenthetical in the text below? It has a huge impact on the meaning, and right now it looks like bucking convention was the unsuccessful part, not the conclusion.

"…executives at 20th Century Fox looked at the first two-thirds of Trank\’s film and, realizing he had bucked convention (unsuccessfully), swung the entire movie towards a digital effects heavy conclusion"

I was hoping for a box office flop but I\’ll settle for a critical flop instead. Every review I\’ve read thus far that\’s bothered to summarize the film even briefly has made it seem interminably boring as well, and that\’s from those who don\’t have a deep investment in expecting something better from it (I\’m sure the geek crowd is more furious in their assessments). So… I\’m guessing Trank won\’t be manning the sequel unless someone at Fox owes him a huge favor.
