Jessica, do you think Franco's and Val' characters might actually be scripted parodies in a created reality setting where the rest, or most of the rest of the characters aren't scripted, but are part of the experiment?

Considering their dialogues, they both seem pretty shallow and one- dimensional, yet presenting two almost opposing cliches that must happen in hollywood, as if they were trying to parody these two types. Surely the scene in the end you mentioned as well as Franco's lack of participation in the sex, yet encouraging real homosexual sex as real acting, hint to that. I give real life Franco a little more credit than what his character's shallow rambling shows and I doubt real life Val would like to present himself to the world as such a stereotypical struggling actor desperate to please a big star while pathetically trying to show the world they are friends, unless he was playing a character. The movie would work well as such parodies of those two types while still showing gay sex doesn't have to be pure evil (actually, the movie could have been even better if they had gone deeper with the parody characters in a longer running time, if they were indeed conceived as such).

The people in this comment section are pretty sensitive about a person they don't know. Oh, the poison of easy opinions on the internet. Don't care about Franco, but you people should get a life. As should I, I guess.
