Perhaps the reviewer wanted to see a movie about comets (ooops, meteorites, how much attention was he paying?…..) This was a character study, the sci-fi element was merely a vehicle to put things in motion and keep them there.

Um, that's what the whole movie was about. Their interpersonal conflicts were all about regrets, decisions they could have made and didn't or did and shouldn't have. The conflicts were what the theme of the whole movie was about.

I could not disagree more. This was a wonderfully written/directed/acted sci-fi film that was rooted in the characters.
