As a huge fan of cinema, and the science-fiction and fantasy genres that this film underlines so much, I am sad to admit that I found Huge largely inadequate. Yes the 3D was wonderful, used better and more impressively than it was used even in Avatar but the story lacked so much in it. I never could feel the necessary sense of wonder. And I have to confess, I felt that the films Melies did were stupid. Why the need to celebrate such quaint and amateurish stuff after so much time and in a family entertainment movie? When I contrast it with my feeling of sense of awe at the end of The Artist another tribute to the history of film which I saw two days later, it becomes even more apparent that Scorsese failed in his tribute. I only felt like a long and boring film history lesson delivered by a professor who was ace back in those days but fell hopelessly beyond the times and now unable to spark any kind flame in his students. And I repeat, the film terribly dragged in the second half, especially during the neverending dialogue scenes with Melies, his wife and the two kids.

@ Mr. Anonymous
Sigh... That's what you have to say after reading this review? Jeesh. 1. Dude, those are called sub headlines. Sorry you don't appreciate their use in certain posts, but we're going to keep using them. 2. The site is still be tinkered with and fixed. It's a ton of work for the IW folks. Your patience is appreciated. 3. A chore? Really? Is that what things have come to? That level of do-it-my-way entitlement is kind of mind blowing.

Thanks for reading!

Can i just say i hate the new look and design of The Playlist.

1. Why do some articles have information under the title picture and some don't? It's just bizarre! Keep it the same for each one! Either have a blurb underneath or don't!

2. And for goodness sake, please show how many comments each article has received without me having to click on the title which takes me to its full page to find out! It's plain annoying.

None of what i've just mentioned occured before the new look and design so why have you started doing this now? I used to read The Playlist everyday, honestly, now i don't even bother. It's become a chore.

What a waste.
