The excellent acting in this series not withstanding the fourth season of House of cards is simply unbelievable. The notion that a president and his wife would ever unite on a presidential ticket is simply beyond belief. Given both characters complete lack of character and incredible ability to piss people off I find it hard to believe that any of their minions would or could realistically remain loyal to them. I think that the first season of House of Cards was such a runaway success that the producers have decided to milk this cow until it moos. In short the series should have ended last year and subsequent seasons will see the Underwoods spinning their Machiavellian political implausibility in oterspace when they both manage to become rulers of the univers

Wonderful improvement from last year. There was a great deal of flip flopping that created so much implausibility, but no matter---it\'s great political theater. Impressed by: Neve Campbell, again Mike Kelly\'s nebulous Doug Stamper...the incomparable Jayne Atkinson as Durant trying to play hardball with the Underwoods and failing miserably, and the score. I too wonder why their show runner is leaving and am worried it won\'t have the same greatness. Burstyn was underused and kind of a wth moment with cicely Tyson. But all in all a sublime season. Just give the Emmy to Robin Wright already and be done with it.

By "he", I meant Beau Willimon, the show\'s creator, and why would he leave this masterpiece behind? Cant wait for Season 5 with more episodes too.

This Season 4 is the best of the series to date. I liked having Lucas and Petrov back on the show. I\'d like to see more scenes of Claire with Petrov and the sparks that fly between them. I did not go for the actor playing Jeff Conway. I think he is too young for the Presidency. Le Ann is great so far; more remains to be seen. Dunbar gets brushed aside now but I\'d like her to continue working on Frank\'s hidden acts with Tom H., former editor of the paper to prove Frank is a murderer. All this should be ongoing and exposed in the last season. Kevin Spacey is perfect as always and I\'m enjoying Claire, who personifies elegance, and able to be presidential herself. It is too bad the show killed off Lucas Goodwin. I\'ve always like him and even on Madam Secretary where we don\'t see enough of him. Tom, as Claire\'s lover, is very timid and soft. I don\'t know if he\'s the right choice for her. Petrov is more of her style. Don\'t care for the dowdy Sec\'y of State. Why would he leave a great show like this one? Maybe he can pick up THE GOOD WIFE on CBS and have it continue somewhere else with some changes!

Re Willimon, I\'m anxious as to why he\'s left, HOC feels like a huge novel and I\'d assumed he had a sense of the piece as a whole, the conclusion of this season works as a chilling ending to a terrifying novel so I\'m concerned where we\'re headed to without him. As for the new characters, Neve Campbell\'s just great and a sign there\'s still enough meat on the story for more, as for Kinnaman, I don\'t know, it\'s hard for me to tell cause his is the first character I\'m desperate for the Underwoods to destroy.

this show is such a great model for the new television era, which means forgiving the diversions and slow moments, this is truly long form, taking us this way and that without having to pander to anything other than the complexity and eccentricity of those characters. I\'d add where you see far flung theatrics I see Greek high drama, I wish more dramas would be as bold and crazy, I mean this is 2016, it\'s wild out there.
