The story lacked focus and it didn’t make a strong enough of a statement about coming of age to excuse this. The performances were appropriate, but I still would not count them as good since nearly every character was a tired cliché. I hadn't heard of this movie until a coworker at Dish recommended it to me because my mother is one of those new-age types. It seemed like it could resonate with me so I decided to rent it through my Blockbuster @Home account. I wouldn’t say that it was a bad movie, but I definitely lost interest a number of times watching it and was far from identifying with it. I am glad that I just rented it because I don’t see myself watching it again.
