Great review. Every time I saw the trailer for this, I wanted to scream. It just looks terrible and pushes feminism back by about 300 years. Add to that cringe-worthy dialogue, mediocre-at-best acting and zero chemistry and you\’very got a film that\’s less of a guilty pleasure and more of a painful endurance.

I was wondering what the other reviewers have been smoking. Even removing some of the most laughable dialogue ever from the book would still leave a ridiculous story. This pretty much confirms what I\’ve been seeing in the clips and trailer.

Wait a minute – who suggested that is was supposed to be considered a novel of high caliber – a Pulitzer Prize winner? Of course it wasn\’t – and the film isn\’t an Oscar contender either! So – relax and either go or don\’t go see the movie. Either way – much like the Twilight series and films it too will make more money than it took to make and those who count on this will laugh all the way to the bank!

I\’m guessing you haven\’t actually read the book (and I don\’t blame you) because the movie was freakin\’ Shakespeare compared to the novel. Not to mention competently shot (unlike Twilight).

It struck me as a typical romance story with some extra skin. And I think the appeal is in the "typical romance story" more than in the extra skin. The adorable every-girl who melts the heart of the cold, tortured man is a tale as old as time.

I usually love going to the movies and have rarely ever fallen asleep on one. THowever, this one was an exception I fell asleep about 15 mins into it, ouch!
By the middle of the movie I asked my date did he want to leave!!! I\’m the female and I didn\’t even want to stay and finish watching it. Besides the movie getting some sick horny person off the movie is very boring. It does nothing for romance, chemistry, excitement, drama or action
It\’s nothing but a movie ticket to a more tamed porn show!!
I should have followed my first thoughts and watched Focus- starring Will Smith. I bet I wouldn\’t have put me to sleep :/
