I really enjoyed this film, I think partly because there was no heavy handed moralizing or character back stories…just two people thrown into a situation together and dealing with it.

I am a fan of the Stallone âDredd,â as cheesy as it may be. I like the new âDreddâ takes on the darkness that makes this character so intriguing. My co-worker at Dish told me this movie has also been compared to âThe Raid: Redemption.â I want to see that movie as well, and since it is already on DVD; I decided to add it to my Blockbuster @home DVD queue. I get fast shipping, and I have a long weekend ahead, and this will make for a fun movie night. When âDreddâ hits DVD I will add that to my movie watching list.

Didn't this film hit some snags in production/editing? I remember the director and writer, Alex Garland, butting heads. I guess this didn't affect the final film?

Loved Dredd – lean, unpretentious, stylish b-movie which achieves its modest ambitions perfectly. There was more genuine cinematic style, poise, and grace in Ma-Ma's rhapsodic death scene than in the whole bloated three hours of Dark Knight Rises put together.

Have seen Dredd. A very, very enjoyable film. Quite decent and not at all bad and it's positives far outweigh the negatives. Karl Urban is fantastic as Dredd and loved Thirlby as Anderson and for me the chemistry between these two characters is really the foundation of the film and that's what worked the most for me.
