Lomax's book was powerful, inspiring and heroic on it's own. It's a story of finding peace and strength in forgiveness.

As for Eric and Patti, I think because Nicole Kidman was cast some want to make Patti's role in this film some major hurdle. I assume the marriage had conflict but that wasn't the story here and not what this film is about.

And a shout out to Jeremy Irvine who I felt was the real standout in this film.
