I failed to mention that these "reborn dolls" have a large fan base of collectors who love the realistic creation. Most are doll collectors but there have been some who have benefited therapeutically: women who have lost a baby or child, women who are unable to conceive, empty-nesters who miss having a child in the house; people in nursing homes, especially those with dementia or Alzheimers Disease. These realistic dolls seem to be a comfort to those with certain emotional issues.

I\'m glad somebody finally mentioned the doll. I\'ve read many viewer comments, most from Internet Movie Database dot com and nobody mentions the doll.
The doll is a representation of a "reborn doll" which is a crafted or re-crafted doll which is very popular in the doll world. Thousands of people have become "reborn artists", taking ordinary dolls or blank canvas doll parts created just for this purpose, and painting them in a way that makes them appear realistic with shading, blushing and adding translucent veins, and "rooting" the hair a few strands at a time into the scalp, a very time consuming and tedious process, then dressing them in real baby clothes. Most of the dolls are given a soft, cloth body to give them the realistic, floppy feel of a real baby, being filled with weighted material and polyfil. Occassionally the vinyl body is used but it doesn\'t have the same realistic feel as a cloth body. So, with a cloth body it wouldn\'t be practical to immerse the doll in water for surely it would ruin it.
When I watched the bath scene I was sure I noticed that it was still the soft body so I assumed they either saved that scene for last or else changed out the body for another afterwards. But then towards the end, when both Emanuel and the baby were underwater the doll\'s body was still the soft, floppy body. So, Donna Angel, since you saw a hard body and I saw a soft body I don\'t know which is right. I would have to watch it again to be sure.
