Wow an A-! You guys rarely give those out! I would have to agree... although this film would have been a solid A if I were rating. Theron will be nominated for an Oscar without a doubt, and in a year without Streep and Williams', she would most likely win. YOUNG ADULT is a film that takes balls but more than that intense talent to construct. I give Diablo Cody MAJOR kudo's for writing a very daring and bold script and allowing herself to go balls to the wall with the Mavis character. I'm so happy to see Theron working again and I'm THRILLED that Reitman is still on a hot streak-- in fact, I would go as far to say that this film TOPS all of his previous work. Same goes for Cody. Maybe for Theron, too. She was fantastic in 'Monster' and deserved the Oscar but YOUNG ADULT is so terrific, I think this may very well be her finest performance to date. Oswalt is terrific and is seen as a true talent in this film. Everyone is good including Patrick Wilson who proves he's a great character actor once again (see Little Children too while you're at it... you can go on a depressive spree this weekend!). VERY WELL DONE TEAM CODY/REITMAN!
