I was really hoping this movie would go as ridiculous as Inglorious Basterds & end with Captain America breaking into Hitler\’s bunker & giving him a big American punch to his Nazi face.

I am SO excited for this movie! One of my most anticipated of the year. I never read the comic books and know very little about the character, but since day one, the ads and idea of a WWII superhero have had me pumped! There is nothing I love more than a tasty twist on the action genre.

Whenever the comics have addressed real-life horrors like the Holocaust or 9/11 it comes across as cheap and heavy handed. It takes away from the dramatic stakes of the story, it never raises them.

By having HYDRA be the main villains instead of the Nazis it allows Captain America\’s adventures to run parallel to the actual events of WW2 and not cheapen what actually happened.

After all, in Marvel continuity Cap punched out HItler and then the WW2 era Human Torch burned Hitler alive in his bunker. Hitler\’s dying wish to his lieutenant was to tell the world he killed himself to spare him the humiliation. Of course that didn\’t stop Hitler coming back over the years as a series of clones.

Lots of dramatic weight there, huh?

seriosuly, come the f on…really, you thought the movie needed more Holocaust? I guess Iron Man needed more 9/11 too?
