Gotta agree with the previous comments. This movie was absolute garbage. Meandering, amateurish, unfocused, masturbatory, empty, cynical, naive, boring, unconvincing, sensationalized, and about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face. I'm shocked and appalled. This should have been so much better.

Sadly, this movie is a piece of shit.

I wanted to like it. I sat down prepared for it to be one of my favorite movies of the year. ...Robert Ford is one of my favorite movies, ever, and I'm a fan of hard-boiled gangster movies so this seemed like a no-brainer, but...

It just didn't work. The political connection was just stupid. I didn't like the gimmicky camerawork either. (Camera mounted on car door. Phantom sequences. ESPECIALLY the heroin cam.)

When "Money (That's What I Want)" hit after the awesome final line, I really wanted to be moved by it, but... just nothing there to really appreciate. Gandolfini was actually probably my favorite part of the entire movie.

And what the FUCK is TWC doing releasing this into 2400 theatres? Did they *want* to get a F CinemaScore? If any movie ever should have been platformed, it would have been this one. Well, actually having said that, I think even the big city audiences would have rejected it. Maybe they should have gone VOD
