Yes I know I'm not the only one who disagrees with this bad review. I enjoyed the film so much. Unsophisticated? Who ever said a film needs to be sophisticated for it to succeed?

I really enjoyed this movie. I not only think Ben Stiller' s performance was great, but the entire movie had such a positive outlook. I feel like getting out of my comfort zone and taking chances. 🙂

I really liked this movie and can't believe it has had such mediocre reviews. This was a very ambitious film, and despite the sci-fi/fantasy element it was a very humanizing film, too. Loved the music, too especially all the Junip/Jose Gonzalez they used – was great to hear "Far Away" twice (when Walter drives through Greenland in search of Sean and the missing photo and then when Walter rides down Icelandic mountain on the long board he traded Stretch Armstrong for) and also "Don't Let It Pass" (when Walter and Sean have joined the Sherpa soccer match)

Also a side note, this was one of the first films I liked Kristen Wiig in. She didn't just play her one nervous stock character.

Probably the review was bad because there was no aberrations, absurdities and the like in the movie – whenever a movie is good and sound they (the critics, reviewers) call it a clichÃª. the movie must be a good one. I will see it just because of what stated above.

I would have to disagree with the above review 100%. This movie was life affirming, very well acted & when it ended, my friends and I had a huge smile on our faces. The only thing that I could fault was the amount of product placement in the movie especially for Papa Johns.

Disagree wholeheartedly with this review. Why does a film need to be considered artless and cheesy just because it's life affirming? Ben Stiller does his best work here, as he veers away from the forced humor that his past flops succumbed to and instead, plays naturally and sincerely a character who is a sad schmuck until he's not anymore. The chemistry between Stiller and Wiig is also noteworthy, as it feels sincere and tender. The product placement is actually pretty subtle—I can't really recall anything that stood out. Perhaps that's me post-brainwashing. In any case, don't let this review discourage you. This fool probably loved stuff like Inside Llewyn Davis because it reminds one how shitty and disappointing life can be. For those of you who don't mind an optimistic film, go see The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
