@Aden- I agree. I was quite taken with this film. This review is one of the few that bashes the film. It's sitting at a pretty 82% on RT right now... only a few reviews in, so hopefully it will remain at a high percent. Good movie though, really enjoyed it. Michelle Williams was pretty damn amazing as Monroe.

I completely disagree. What this film may lack in depth, it wins on performances. Michelle Williams' gives one of the best (if not THE BEST) interpretation of Marilyn Monroe in any film. It's a winning performance that will surely land her an Oscar nom. I think what some people, including The Playlist, may have against this film is that it's light and whimsical- but it never claims to be revelatory or groundbreaking. Williams' portrays Monroe as 3 different people, which is essentially how Monroe perceived herself. She's Norma Jean, the character in the Prince and the Showgirl, and then "Marilyn". The Playlist clearly missed the boat on this performance and the film as a whole. It's commendable work from a highly credible cast and best of all- it's a FUN film. Go see it guy, don't let this review bring you down. It's worth your time and money.
