kind of a trad retrospective, but always welcome. I\'ve been up and down on TPFWWM, but as someone who mostly found Twin Peaks too quirky and twee for their taste, I have to say I prefer the movie\'s dark, twisted tone. I also think you\'ve missed Lost Highway, is it a coincidence alleged wife killer Robert Blake and Natalie Wood\'s daughter feature? The critic Slavoj Žižek\'s got a take on it that fits, and I don\'t think there\'s been a film or film maker who has taken us so deeply and unflinchingly into a state of chronic mental illness. After LH & Mulholland Dr. the movies had nowhere to go but down, with those two Lynch had pushed the psychological parameters and possibilities as far as they could go.
