Linklater has been involved in that for a long time, and a lot of the listed filmmakers are people who got their start thanks to funding from the Austin Film Society.

It\’s a celebration of the film that really jump-started Austin film culture, going toward the cause of supporting new filmmakers. There\’s no selling out going on here.
