As "Louie" is a show that employs subtle surrealism and pervasively fucks with the thin line between comedy and tragedy , I think it's as ripe for recap as any show on TV. I mean, I love "Game of Thrones", "Girls" and "Mad Men", but I think this is the one that most DEMANDS to be talked about.

As "the internet" says : you nailed it. Granted everybody seems to love Louie somehow but now and then someone has to say something like: hold on a sec, it IS really good. Cause let's face it… it may be canceled tomorrow morning.

I bet he had cast that black lady to evade any similarities between his ex on the show and in real life. I would not be surprise if the two of them talk about putting a version of her on the show and seeing her ambivalent about it, Louis, as the nice guy he is, suggest to cast a black lady even tough it doesn't make sens! "fuck it, i'll even make her a black lady!" It fits the whole premiss of the show!
