"Uptick"? Is that a joke? I haven't seen last nights episode yet but last week the show hit an all time low. This stinker just gets worse and worse with each new episode. And it's not even the whole "women" issue. This show is about as corny, cliched, sentimental, laughably romantic, predictable and ludicrous as any show on network television. Sorkin seems incapable of going 5 minutes without checking in on every characters love life. That, combined with downright stupid gags like people walking into doors, people trying to brake down doors and people punching computer screens makes the show more than cringe worthy. And Dev Patel would easily earn a Razzie if this was a movie. The problem with the show is that it's a network show on a cable channel. Network television is uniformly awful and Aaron Sorkin does not belong on HBO.

I personally love the show and think its doing fine. This episode was by far the best and while everyone keeps pointing out the women flaws on the show, the men has them as well. All these characters carry strengths/weaknesses, but that's what makes it interesting b/c they all still work towards one goal: the news. And the news subjects has been executed well. Sloane owned this week and Will got owned, great turn of events. The Newsroom will be just fine.

Good review. The only part where I take issues is when you say the line, "I love you, but a Japanese man's honor is at stake", is the worst on the show. It might seem so, but when you take into the fact that honor is much more important in Japan than in the US, you realize that she is essentially saying "This man's life is at stake, he may commit suicide because of what I have done."
