I don't really get the feeling, myself, that things are "slipping out of his grasp". If anything, the fact that he now apparently has the undying loyalty of Skyler, who has shown she can really get things done, would seem to indicate a tightening of his grasp, not to mention the fact that he seems to survive. Everyone seems to think this ends with the bad guy losing, and is coloring their interpretations of what is happening to match that expectation/desire. Why would that be? That is entirely predictable, and not really all that reflective of real life.

I kind of feel like I will be let down if Walt loses, whether more figuratively (by losing his family) or literally (by being jailed, dying, etc). I feel like with his high education, cool logic and expert manipulation he has been able to pull everything off in as moral and non-destructive a manner as possible considering the world he walked into. I mostly want to see him succeed. It's like he's slowly turning the seedy underbelly of meth production and distribution into a respectable family franchise operation -- had to break a few bad eggs that threatened his safety along the way but how could it be avoided -- if he were in truly running the whole show nobody would die and nobody would fear for their lives or freedom, they would just make money. ::shrug::

I know, I'm terrible.

That was my biggest question in the past two episodes, where is Walt Jr ? Before we see Walt recovering from exhaustion all three of the Whites vehicles are present outside the house. Is it possible he's sooo oblivious not to hear his mother screaming followed by a loud thud, and then choose not to investigate.
