You should watch this show, instead of reviewing it - it's really very good, and all of the facts are on the screen. For example, In one episode, Gillian Darmody tries to jag Gyp Rosetti with heroin but, gets jagged herself. Ever since, she's been addicted to heroin.

The plot against Nucky by the Commodore, Eli and Jimmy all were from the second season. In the first season, the D'Alessio brothers were the ones trying to steal from him and used as pawns in the beef Rothstein had against Nucky over Rothstein's behavior at one of Nucky's casinos. The sad thing about Boardwalk Empire is that the first two seasons were so good. Well written and intermingling politics with the history of the times while not focusing exclusively on the gangster stuff. They made a huge mistake when they killed off Jimmy at the end of season 2. It changed the nature of most of the characters on the show and left little reason why a lot should still be on the canvas. As great as Jack Huston is as Richard, his character was suicidal when Jimmy and Angela were alive. When they both were killed, what realistic reason did he have for staying in Atlantic City? On top of that, why did it take him more than a year to get revenge on Manny Horvitz for killing Angela? The political aspect has evaporated. Since the first season took place in 1920 and Nucky's re-election of county treasurer, who holds the post now? Will they bother with the election? Did they just decide to skip over Warren Harding's death when they made his AG (Christopher McDonald) such a prominent recurring character? It's become a mess. The wit it showed those first two years has vanished as it has transformed into nothing more than a well-made period gangster tale from the almost E.L. Doctorow-like tale from which it began.
