Rebecca Ferguson In Talks For Fantasy Revenge Pic ‘Best Served Cold’; ‘Deadpool’s’ Tim Miller Directing

Rebecca Ferguson is quickly turning into the reigning Queen of genre franchises. Not only is she one of the leads in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune,” but she is the star of the new Apple TV+ series, “Silo,” and has previously been seen in the Stephen King film, “Doctor Sleep.” Also, while not strictly a “genre” franchise, “Mission: Impossible” is basically a superhero series at this point, right? All that to say, it’s not all that surprising that she is ready to team up with Tim Miller for a new fantasy film, “Best Served Cold.”

According to Deadline, Rebecca Ferguson is in “final talks” to star in the upcoming fantasy revenge film, “Best Served Cold,” which will be directed by Tim Miller, of “Deadpool” fame. The film is based on the Joe Abercrombie book of the same name and tells the story of legendary mercenary Monza Murcatto, who finds herself on a quest for revenge after a massive betrayal. “Best Served Cold” is written by Abercrombie, who previously worked with Miller on a segment of “Love, Death + Robots.”

As mentioned, Ferguson is probably best known for her roles in the “Mission: Impossible” and “Dune” franchises. However, her most recent project, “Silo,” has been a solid addition to Apple TV+, earning rave reviews. 

Miller, in addition to “Deadpool,” has most recently directed “Terminator: Dark Fate.” That film, though not as terrible as some “Terminator” films, didn’t do well at the box office and served as a bit of a speed bump in the career of Miller. However, he has found success with the aforementioned Netflix animated anthology, “Love, Death + Robots.” 

It’s still too soon to know when we might see “Best Served Cold” arrive on a streaming service or in theaters. However, with Ferguson attached and Miller directing, this is a project that will have a lot of film fans excited.
