A little over-the-top maybe but there's a lot of very good performances including Amy Smart, Eldon Henson and probably Ashton Kutcher's best work, and a very interesting sci-if element. Also, Im far from alone, A lot of people actually love that movie.

With that said, I wouldn't mind if the original writer-directors made a sequel that retconned 2 and 3 which most people don't even know exist. A reboot could maybe work but Im not a huge fan of that idea or of most reboots/remakes in general.
