Great list! I couldn\’t stand Life Aquatic the first time I saw it, but over the last couple of years it\’s actually been sneaking up my list of favorite Wes movies. Darjeeling, at this point, is his only film I don\’t really care for. Then again, I haven\’t seen it in awhile. So it could be time to give it another watch.

For me, M. Gustave will always be the number one. All of Wes\’s characters are amazingly well constructed of course, but M. Gustave also was a wonderful and charming character. But however the list is great!! I\’m putting M.Gustave in the first place because despite Max and Royal are, as I said, very well done and are very deep, I kind of can\’t stand them, especially Max hahaha, but that only talks about how good is Jason Schwartzman and Gene Hackman\’s acting!

I\’m going to agree with Arely and mark. I\’ve been a fan since i watched (and re-watched and RE-RE-RE-RE-watched) my locals video store\’s copy of Bottle Rocket over and over. Darjeeling may have confused/disappointed at first, but with each subsequent viewing it reveals itself more and more. And Life Aquatic id definitely one of Wes\’ funniest films.

Suzy and Sam from Moonlight Kingdom are my #1 and 2. "Social Services" is the only character in that film who has neither a first nor last name. I\’ve always been a fan of Bottle Rocket, but hated Darjeeling when it first came out. I recently saw it again and liked it. Same with The Life Aquatic. Wes can be an acquired taste. Also saw Rushmore recently and appreciated it even more than when it debuted. Fun list.

I just watched aaaalllll of the Wes films earlier this year for essay-writin\’ purposes, so I feel uniquely qualified to throw some awesome opinions at the internet. Like: M. Gustave should be #1, with daylight second. And: do my eyes deceive me, or is there really no Stephen McCole as Magnus in Rushmore? He always wanted to be in one of your feckin\’ plays…

Max Fischer is definately number one. Schwartzman in the opening of Rushmore, I cannot think of anything more memorable in a Wes Anderson movie. Tbh I couldnt even remember Gene Hackman when I thought about top candidates before I viewed the top five.

Why do you hate Darjeeling so much?! It\’s a great film and helped me rediscover Wes Anderson all those years after Rushmore and then Tenenbaums. Both Moonrise and Grand Budapest are masterpieces, I\’d have had M Gustave as number one…

I can\’t argue with the #1 one slot. Tenenbaums was the movie that introduced me to Anderson films. Still, for me, it was Richie Tenenbaum that really captured my attention, so I was surprised he was so low on the list. I suspect that Max Fischer lobbied against him until the writers gave in.

Excellent list, max Fischer is always going to be number 1 for me and I think Owen Wilson was excellent as dignan. I guess because it\’s my favourite film I\’d liked to have seen magnus from Rushmore in there but so many great characters to choose from☺

Great list!! a little sad for the hate for \’The Darjeeling Limited", for me that movie gets better every time 🙂
