Well unlike Siskel & Ebert, who loved the movie, I thought Babe: Pig in the City sucked. It\’s actually the only movie of his I have seen though (other Fury Road which I just saw tonight). I need to watch the others, especially the Mad Max movies since I did enjoy Fury Road quite a bit.

Guys, \’Pig in the City\’ might have had a few vocal supporters in Ebert and Siskel, but it was mostly derided, especially compared to the original. And though I appreciate its dark tones, the whole point of the film is dubious at best. And Happy Feet is a better accomplishment, IMO.

I echo Frank\’s comments. Babe: Pig in the City may have been a different beast and not as unanimously acclaimed as its predecessor, but it was hardly critically derided. It seems as though that "fact" stuck in your head while making this list and affected your thinking about the movie. It\’s far greater than Happy Feet, which I love.

THE ROAD WARRIOR, BABE: PIG IN THE CITY, and Miller\’s TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE segment are masterpieces created by one of the best visual stylists and directors of action working in cinema today. I\’m really tired of knee-jerk fanboys who know nothing about film-making dominating current film criticism. Take your MCU and your Christopher Nolan movies and leave the rest of it alone.

Babe: Pig in the City was hardly "met with immediate critical derision." While some critics did find it too dark for a family film, it had many vocal supporters. Among them were Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel. In fact, it was Siskel\’s top movie of the year. It\’s too bad the facts don\’t fit your narrative. Dig a little bit deeper next time.
