Well it would certainly give a drama more texture, originality and tension if it dared to explore terrains outside the (same old, same old) Straight, White Male perspective.

hey guest, wouldn\’t it be great if every tv show and film had one african american, one asian, one white, and one female lead? it would make things so much better!

better idea: let artists tell the stories they want to tell and the characters that fit those stories. expecting each show to have a gender/race quota and then being outraged about those quotas not being met is really, really, lame.

aside from rachel, most of these names have been floated for MONTHS. so i wouldn\’t say hbo is keeping us on our toes. i\’d say they\’ve done a terrible job here with season 2 and should have kept their stuff quiet and tight and not had these leaks for months. and the lack of diversity, only one prominent role, no, hbo isn\’t doing anything for us right now.
