Where are the world’s Christopher Lee’s?
It seems they’ve disappeared, much like the bees
Longevity snuffed out like a candle in the breeze
No longer able to do what they please.

Yet look at this man a true overcomer
In the face of adversity, divorce a snowball in summer
Juggling things in childhood and life that could be a bummer
Yet pressing thru every life hurdle as if in a Hummer

Relationship challenges and injuries
Medical conditions, denial and inquiries
Military service, malaria and the industry
Stakes thru the heart, operas and the symphonies

The biting of many necks and avoiding the sun
The dangers of being the Man with the Golden Gun
The careful handling of light sabers during a separatist run
And all this when most his age are saying their done

Staying humble and truthful while others prefer to boast
Facing the enemy in World War II never leaving his post
But the next trait is the one that impressed me the most
Never discussing mission info to maintain his oath

Where are these men of integrity, those who fulfill their lot?
The ones whom when offered retirement say, “I will not!”
The ones when offered opportunities give it all they’ve got
The ones when firing the Golden Gun give it their best shot

Mr. Lee we honor you as you take your rest
In everything I’ve seen you in you were at your best
I take great joy in knowing you’re alive although not in the flesh
May your spirit continue to thrive as you continue your quest
