Wow, Elizabeth Taylor, and now this. Yes, Sidney , RIP !

I still remember as a teenager being riveted watching an edited version of \' Dog Day Afternoon \' on a local broadcast tv channel. That raw & gritty movie still holds up, and it is beyond ridiculous that Al Pacino didn\'t win the Oscar for that influential performance. \"Q&A\" is one of my favorites, that is completely underrated and well-acted. In Q &A , Timothy Hutton gives his best performance since \' Ordinary People\'. I enjoyed watching “100 Centre Street” on the A&E Network- I didn\'t even know Lumet was involved with that show.

P.S. I am sure George Clooney will comment on Sidney\'s passing because \' Fail Safe\' is his favorite movie.

One of the legends of cinema. And as ridiculous as it seems to say it I think he was totally undervalued and underappreciated as a director.
