I believe u meant to say the song Street Hassle closes out The Squid and the Whale in the same way Sister Ray closes out Brick. Not sure what song you mean by Waltzing Matilda unless you r referring to the Tom Waits song that says that but isn't called that.

It's an uneven film but one that springs to mind is the use of "Oh sweet nuthin" in Away We Go. Soundtracks a scene full of regret and love brilliantly.
